Bonkers for conkers

We used the game of conkers to make a great story for Hovertravel. It was on the Isle of Wight that the first use of horse chestnuts was recorded in 1848, so both hovercraft and conkers were invented on the Island. We also used conkers for a seasonal image for the Meteor meet and greet parking website.

Some positive results just in for a couple of clients, demonstrating that engaging and creative PR can be a significant part of promoting a business. Hovertravel has recorded their highest ever market share in their 67 year history and Heathrow Express had a 12% increase in passenger numbers.

The Bestival beckons

Sometimes a photograph is too good for PR purposes and for our PR activity for Hovertravel around the forthcoming Bestival, we needed a more illustrative feel to the imagery. By trying several apps we were able to cost-effectively create an original cartoon which is much more in keeping with the vibe of this event.

Party Time

Last Friday there were parties at both Chineham Park in Basingstoke and Milton Park near Oxford for all the occupiers. We were on hand to capture the fun and there was lots of it – with clowns, candy floss, bungee madness and free food. Both parties also saw record attendance. We promoted the parties beforehand to get the date in everyone’s diaries, attended to capture all the photos and then created a photo gallery on the clients’ websites afterwards.

Chineham Park refurbished the amenity area of their business park, creating a continental style, al fresco setting for everyone to enjoy their coffees and lunches. To celebrate the official opening of the new Spindlewood facility we organised a lunchtime jazz concert, took some press shots and showed the media.

Promoting combo deals

Our client, Hovertravel, is launching a series of combo offers for Isle of Wight residents and the first is a combined bar snack and cinema ticket – redeemable at Grosvenor Casino in Gunwharf Quays – for under £10. The Casino has loaned Hovertravel a table for their Ryde terminal so we had some fun yesterday creating a suitable press shot.
